We give women money so they can earn money.
One of the most effective ways to ensure the health, safety, and life satisfaction of women is through financial independence. When women are empowered to make the best decisions for their lives without relying on anyone else, they are free to leave situations that are not optimal and live their best lives.
Since 2020, 1 in 4 women are considering a career change, with 2 in 5 setting their sights on STEM. Nearly half of these women cite uncertainty as a barrier, and 25% are deterred by a lack of skills.
We knock down these barriers with grants to women kicking off a new career or returning to the workforce after an extended period away.
On average, women in STEM careers earn over 35% more than they do in other fields.
STEM is a continually growing and evolving field with maximum income potential. Adding art and storytelling as another dimension to our work ensures that the oral history of women’s accomplishments may be preserved and passed on.
The Second Act Foundation gives you the funds to pursue education, use as capital, build connections, get established or certified, or anything else that might help you enter the second act of your work life successfully.
